A Word from the Admininstrator
Lots of happenings over the past weekend with First Communion on Sunday. Our attendance of 710 at the 8:15 Mass contributed to a larger than usual weekend count – 1,282. About 300 of those headed over to the parish hall for a special reception for the First Communicants and their families. Thanks to a major effort by Angela Fifield and her crew (Beth, Elizabeth and Catherine Scully, and Katie Murphree) and with backup support from Rick and Steve, a scrumptious breakfast was expertly prepared and served. Nice cleanup job, too.
We have just paid our insurance premiums for the year - $65,435 for St Ann and $24,440 for Our Lady of the Assumption – a slight decrease for the parish over last year. We are covered under the Diocese Self-Insurance Risk Management Program, which determines premiums on the basis of property value, payroll (Workers Comp) and vehicles owned. The diocese retains the firm American Appraisal to “trend” each property for current insurance replacement value. According to the diocese another overall review is in progress and we may get some additional adjustments later this month.
